  1. So beautiful to hear about all the love everyone showered this horse with! Having come from a “rough” start, she deserved all the pampering she was given, and I’m sure she loved you all back for what you did for her. It’s nice to know she was surrounded by so many caring souls, man & animal, during her transition to her new life. Thank you for sharing your painful, but beautiful story, Angela. I’ve witnessed death 4 times, and I’ve learned from those experiences that death is not so scary & terrible as one might think. To see that crossing over period is an amazing experience, and a gift to those left behind. Juanita’s spirit really shines through in her photos! Warm wishes to you and all her caretakers for strength in healing and peaceful hearts, knowing you all did the very best you possibly could. She was so lucky to have found you and I’m sure the last 2 yrs. were the best years of her life! At least she got to know what true love really feels like. Thank you for that. Love, Denise.

  2. ……………..Juanita Sounds like a Beautiful Horse………..I Know Her Beauty on the Outside was Precious……..the pastels of grey…….I Wish that I ‘d Known Her………..I’m Crying Now after Watching Your Video Angela……….Life is So Confusing, Hurtful, Joyful, Happy –>>all at the Same Time……….You have to Be alittle Crazy I Think to Get through it all………………….Thank You Angela!!! for Sharing the Story and Her Beautiful Pictures…………… 🙂 (: ……………………………

  3. very moving Angela-You did a wonderful job conveying her spirit to us who didn’t know her. Wow-what an experience for you all. Amazing. How is her daughter Luchita coping with the loss?

    • Bless you, thank you Geraldine…Luchita seems to be coping well so far. Our old white gelding, Vortex, is with her and they are pretty much inseparable. Luchita is very pregnant herself, so we are doing all we can to help her get great nutrition and care… I was actually there at the moment she and Vortex entered the area where Juanita had been – the moment at which they saw her grave and the absence of Juanita in the physical…it was an extraordinary moment to witness. Luchita went *straight* to the exact place her mama’s head had laid down after she left her body and sniffed/scratched at the floor…she laid down on her mama’s grave (and took a dust bath 😉 …and just scuffled up the whole area, sniffing, eyes wide, nose flaring, ears on point, trying to understand…it went on abt 10 minutes, then she and Vortex seemed to just accept what had passed and walked off together along the canal to the fresh new grass… ❤ ❤ ❤ xxx

      • Incredible Angela-thanks for sharing that. After I read this, I layed and sat still for a moment, processing it. So intense, that would have been amazing to experience. As sad as this loss is, it’s also truly a beautiful experience. I’ve heard of horses in places that act as therapy conduits, for their amazing ability to sense what humans feel. I can imagine how electric your place must have been those days around you all with all your horses. I’m sure they will be or have been a great healing force for you all, and you especially. Take care Angela.

Wow, that is just amazing. You are describing what seems to me like a mourning behavior…. You know… shock, distress, seeking a loved one, searching, questioning, feeling/sensing, then moving on as life calls us to.
I am just amazed about how God’s creatures are so filled with similar ways to express the things that we humans go through…. we are so all connected…

Thanks for sharing your video, and I pray you hold these learning moments close to your heart and engrave them in your memory. I think Juanita is a teacher for things that perhaps have not been expressed in human words into your own (or my) life. So many things we can learn from the plant and animal creation, it never cease to amaze me…

        Blessings to you Angela

  4. Angela,

Thank you for sharing your moving tribute to Juanita. I cried when you explained how she passed over…such an amazing way to do so.

Sending love to Juanita and your family.
